5D MKII Has Arrived!

I’m totally ecstatic, thrilled, and amazed! I just received my Canon EOS 5D Mark II today from the post office!

My Rebel has served me so well the past years and I’m still impressed at the images I can achieve with a “consumer-level” DSLR. Unfortunately it does have it’s limitations and I finally decided to make the jump to a full-frame camera body, which is my new 5D MKII. It is bigger and better in every way than my old Rebel XT, and I’m amazed at not only the image quality, but the ease of use. I only had to flip through the manual once, and in minutes I had it set up just the way I like it. I can’t wait to take this new body on my next shoot and don’t worry, I won’t let my Rebel XT gather dust. It’s still a good camera in many ways.

I was so excited to unpack and unbox the 5D MKII from all the shipping materials, that I snapped a few shots of the process with my EOS Rebel XT that is now my secondary body.

Photographic Goals for 2010

Accountability is important when it comes to goals and I’m ready to put together my list of goals for the coming year.

So here it is:

  1. 365 Project :: One photo a day for the entire year.
  2. Geese Project :: Documenting the geese at Chinguacousy Park from babies to adults.
  3. Earn Certificate :: Complete my photography certificate at college.
  4. Travel More :: I once heard that a photographer is not complete without being well-travelled and seeing what the world has to offer. I intend to see what stories the world has to show me, and to find the hidden gems that dot the planet.

For now, that’s what I have on my plate for the coming year and I will continue to refer to this list for motivation and inspiration. Again, happy holidays everyone.
